Beloit College has won a $114 thousand grant, to convert paper records of artifacts at the Logan Museum of Anthropology into an electronic format. Museum director Bill Green says while many of the museum's artifacts are on display, the entire collection will be available on-line once the project is completed. “There's a huge part that people rarely get to see,” says Green. “We'd like to improve access to the collections. That's really the whole point of the grant.”
A consultant who helped with a similar project for the Milwaukee Public Museum is being brought in to assist, but Green says the majority of the work, which should be completed by December 2009, will be done in house.
