A Fox Valley lawyer accused of repeatedly raping and strangling his wife will not get his bond reduced. David Dudas was in Outagamie County court on Wednesday. He faces 31 charges for the incidents that allegedly happened over several years. Court records say the 49 year-old divorce attorney was arrested in July, after an incident at his home where his children saw their mother bleeding, in the kitchen.
Dudas is facing 31 charges, including first and second-degree sexual assault, strangulation and suffocation, and substantial battery. He’s free on a $750,000 bond.
His attorney, Robert Bellin, asked for a lower amount, saying Dudas will follow the conditions of his bond, no matter how much it would be. Court Commissioner Brian Figy denied that request, saying the domestic violence allegations are the most serious he’s seen in 13 years on the bench. Dudas will be back in court late next month for a preliminary hearing.
