Steven Avery faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison for killing 25-year-old photographer Teresa Halbach on Halloween of 2005. The jury of six women and six men deliberated for nearly 22 hours over three days after hearing a month of testimony.

The verdict, read in the Calumet County Courthouse just after 6:00 pm Sunday, carries a mandatory life sentence.

The 44-year-old Avery had faced three charges but was found guilty of just two — first-degree intentional homicide and possession of a fireman. The jury found Avery not guilty in the charge of mutilating a corpse.
