Closer John Axford pitched out of a 1st and 3rd, no-out jam in the 9th for his 48th consecutive save, leading the Milwaukee Brewers to a 3-2 win over the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium on Sunday.  The Brewers salvaged the final game of the series after falling on Friday and Saturday to the Cardinals.

Jonathan Lucroy’s 6th inning, 2-run double helped the Brewers pull out the win.

Zach Greinke worked six innings, allowing 1-run on 7-hits to improve to 3-1 on the season.  He walked 4 and struck out only 2, but got some brakes along the way.

The Brewers ended up using five pitchers, trying to avoid the sweep.

The Brewers head to San Diego to face the Padres tonight.  Randy Wolf (1-2, 7.17 ERA) pitches for the Brewers.  Joe Wieland (0-3, 4.76 ERA) goes for the Padres tonight.
