The Crandon school district returned to class Friday. The district has been closed the last week, to allow students and staff to attend visitations and funerals for those killed in the October 7th shooting tragedy . Six people were killed, and the shooter later apparently took his own life. Three victims were current Crandon students, and the others were graduates. superintendent Dr. Richard Peters thinks the return to class will be like a new beginning to students.

The district has also been looking for experts to come in periodically over the next few weeks to work with staff, to help them with their healing. As the Crandon district did keep doors open, and had services available to students, it will not have to make up the missed class days.
