The Wisconsin men's hockey team (19-4-3, 16-10-2 WCHA) advanced to the WCHA Final Five after Saturday night's 4-2 win over Minnesota State (15-17-6, 11-15-4 WCHA) to complete the playoff sweep.
The Badgers got goals from sophomore Ryan McDonagh, Junior Andy Bombach, Junior Blake Geoffrion and Senior Tom Gorowsky. Wisconsin outshot the Mavericks 46-30 and Shane Connelly made 28 saves in goal for the win.
Wisconsin advances to the WCHA Final Five this coming weekend at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn. The Badgers receive the Thursday bye and will face Denver in the WCHA Final 5 semifinals on Friday.
