The 10th ranked Wisconsin men’s hockey team started fast, but fell to Alaska-Anchorage 4-2 on Saturday night.  The Badgers were swept in their two games at the Kendall Hockey Classic at Sullivan Arena.

The Badgers put the first seven shots on net in the game before falling to the Seawolves.  The Badgers (0-2-0) finished 0-for-5 on the power play.  Anchorage (2-0-0) was 0-for-3.

The first goal of the season for the Badgers came from freshman Matt Ustaski, who scored on a rebound in the second period.  That tied the score 1-1.  But the Seawolves tallied twice to go up 3-1.

Tim Davison scored his first goal of the season for the Badgers to close the gap t0 3-2.  The Badgers then missed out on a golden opportunity, going scoreless on a 5-minute power-play.

The Badgers wound up outshooting the Seawolves by four, tallying 29 shots.  The total more than doubled the Badgers shot output the night before (14) in a loss to the Alaska Nanooks.

Wisconsin returns to the ice this Friday at the Resch Center in Green Bay when they play the first of a two-game series against Northern Michigan.
