The fourth-seeded Wisconsin volleyball team (30-2) takes on Ohio State (23-11) in the NCAA Louisville Regional semifinals on Friday at 4 p.m. CT in Louisville, Kentucky. No. 5-seed Penn State (32-3) takes on UCLA (22-11) in the second regional semifinal at 6 p.m. CT.
The winners will advance to the regional final on Saturday at 3 p.m.
The Badgers are making their second straight NCAA Regional appearance after winning the Champaign Regional as the 12th seed in 2013. Wisconsin advanced to the NCAA championship last season in Seattle, defeating top-seeded Texas in the national semifinals before falling to second-seeded Penn State in the championship match.
Wisconsin is 2-0 against Ohio State this season, sweeping the Buckeyes 3-0 in Madison on Sept. 28 and also winning 3-0 in Columbus, Ohio, on Nov. 21. The Nittany Lions handed the Badgers their only Big Ten Conference loss of the season, sweeping UW 3-0 on Sept. 24 in Madison. Wisconsin and UCLA are tied 2-2 all-time in their series with the last meeting coming in 2005 with the Badgers winning 3-0.
