The Wisconsin Badger women’s volleyball team is off to a 6-0 start and is ranked this
week for the first time since 2008.
The Badgers are 25th this week. The last time the Badgers were among the top 25 in the country was Oct. 27, 2008, when the team was also 25th. The Badgers entered the 2008 season ranked 13th but dropped out of the poll by the end of the year.
The Big Ten Conference domnates the poll with nine teams in the top 25. Penn State (3-1) drops to third after spending last week at No. 1. Minnesota is 4th, Michigan 7th, Nebraska 12th, Ohio State 13th, Illinois 14th, Michigan State 15th and Purdue 22nd.
The Badgers open the 2013 home season this Friday-Saturday by hosting the 22nd-annual InnTowner Invitational in the UW Field House. The Badgers will face Kansas, Milwaukee and Bowling Green in the round-robin tournament.
