Wisconsin women's hockey players Sara Bauer and Meaghan Mikkelson have been named the WCHA Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week for the week of Dec. 4, the WCHA announced on Tuesday.
Bauer, a native of St. Catharines, Ontario, broke the University of Wisconsin career point record and moved into eighth place in NCAA history with a six-point weekend at Robert Morris on Dec. 1-2. She has 10 goals and 23 assists this season, making her the only player in the nation with over 30 points or over 20 assists.
Mikkelson recorded the best weekend of her collegiate career with one goal, five assists and six points in the University of Wisconsin's two-game series against Robert Morris.
Bauer, Mikkelson and the Badgers return to the ice when they face St. Cloud State Dec. 8-9 in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
