MotionW_2ColorAfter three straight Big Ten victories, the Wisconsin Badgers have jumped back into the top 25 in both major top 25 polls.

Wisconsin (6-2, 3-1 Big Ten) moved back into the Amway coaches’ poll at No. 24.  They also climbed back into the Top 25 in the Associated Press poll at #25.

The Badgers dropped out of both polls after suffering a 20-14 loss to Northwestern in the Big Ten opener.  Since then, the Badgers have wins over Illinois (38-28), Maryland (52-7) and Rutgers (37-0).

The Badgers blanked Rutgers on Saturday, their first road victory of the season.  Wisconsin moved into a tie for second place in the Big Ten (3-1) with Minnesota and Iowa.  All three are a half game behind Nebraska (4-1).

The Badgers defense pitched their first road shutout since Oct. 24, 1998, a 31-0 win at Iowa.  The Badgers held Rutgers to 76 yards rushing and 139 total yards on 56 plays.

Corey Clement, who played at Glassboro (New Jersey) High School, rushed 14 times for 131 yards and two touchdowns.  Melvin Gordon rushed 19 times for 128 yards and two touchdowns.

Next up for the Badgers, a game at Purdue (3-6, 1-4) at 11am this Saturday in West Lafayette.
