For the second straight night, the Wisconsin Badgers blew a 1-goal lead and fell

to Northern Michigan, this time by the score of 4-2 at the Resch Center in Green Bay. It allowed the Badgers to pull off a 2-game series sweep.
Wisconsin struck first only three minutes into the game with a goal by junior defender Frankie Simonelli. The Badgers dominated the first period, forcing 11 saves from Wildcat goalkeeper Jared Coureau.
The second period saw the Wildcats level the game at 1-1 with Cohen Adair scoring his second goal of the season at the 17:25 mark.
The Badgers jumped back out in front 2-1 just 18-seconds into the 3rd period on a Mark Zengerle goal. But that would be all the Badgers would get.
Northern Michigan dominated the rest of the period scoring three times over the last 8 minutes. Former Badger Matt Thurber scored on a Wildcat power play at the 12:18 mark to tie the game 2-2. 77 seconds later, Wildcat Kory Kaunisto scored again to make it a 3-2 game.
With less than a minute and a half to play, the Badgers pulled their goalie to try to draw even. But the Wildcats came up with a loose puck in their own zone and Ryan Daugherty sealed the win with an empty netter.
The Badgers get a week off before heading back on the road to face Minnesota-Duluth Oct. 26-27.
