The 14th ranked Wisconsin Badgers set a program record by winning their
11th road game of the season (11-2), knocking off Penn State 71-66 in State College, Pennsylvania.
The Badgers (24-5, 11-5 Big Ten) hit 13 of 14 free throws over the final 3:45 to win its fifth straight road game and seventh overall.
Josh Gasser had 15 points, hitting 3 of 6 from distance and 4 of 5 at the free throw line. The Badgers hit 19 of 24 free throws overall.
The win guaranteed the Badgers a finish of 4th place or better, which is the 13th straight 4th or better finish for the Badgers under Bo Ryan. Wisconsin moved into a second place tie with Michigan State for second place in the Big Ten with two games left to play. With Ohio State losing, the Badgers are guaranteed a first round bye in the Big Ten Tournament.
Penn State did pull within 66-64 with 18-seconds left to play but the Badgers sealed the win at the free throw line.
Ben Brust added 14 points and Traevon Jackson 13 for the Badgers. Wisconsin plays its final home game of the season on Wednesday night, senior night against Purdue at the Kohl Center.
