The Wisconsin Badgers opened the first of three games against in-state rivals by crushing UW-Milwaukee 61-40 on Wednesday night at the Kohl Center. It’s the 18th straight win for the Badgers in the series. Wisconsin is now 27-1 overall against the Panthers.
Jon Leuer led the way with 20 points (7 rebounds) as the Badgers jumped out to an early 34-15 first half lead. Jordan Taylor had 14 points and six assists. Keaton Nankivil also had 10 points and 9 rebounds as the Badgers out-rebounded the Panthers 37-19.
Sophomore guard Ja’Rob McCallum scored 12 points and junior forward Tony Meier added 10 to lead the Panthers.
Wisconsin (7-2) travels to Marquette on Saturday and then hosts Green Bay on Monday night.
