The 12th ranked Wisconsin Badgers held off the pesky Northwestern Wildcats 78-63 at the Kohl Center in Madison.

Wisconsin jumped out early, shooting 65% from the Field in the first half.  The Badgers finished around 57% for the game, but had to fend off a second half Wildcat rally.  Northwestern got hot from three point range (11 of 21 / 52.4%), but the Badgers held off the rally.

Wisconsin (22-6, 12-4 Big Ten) remained two games behind first-place Ohio State with two games left to play.  The Badgers are also just 1-game behind second place Purdue.  Both Ohio State and Purdue won their games on Sunday.

The Badgers finished 16-0 at home for just the third time in 80 years.  Senior Jon Leuer, playing his final home game, led the way with 26 points.

The Badgers close out Big Ten play with two road games this week.  They’re at Indiana on Thursday and at Ohio State next Sunday.
