Four members of the Wisconsin Badger football team have been named to awards watch lists for the 2010 season.
Senior left tackle Gabe Carimi and junior right tackle Josh Oglesby were each placed on the watch list for the Outland Trophy, which goes to college football’s best interior lineman each year. Former Badger Joe Thomas won the Outland Trophy in 2006 and Aaron Gibson and Chris McIntosh were also finalist for the award in 1998 and 1999, respectively.
Junior defensive end JJ Watt and sophomore linebacker Chris Borland have also been placed on the watch list for the Nagurski Trophy which goes to the nation’s best defensive player. No Badger has ever won that award, but Erasmus James was a finalist for the Nagurski in 2004.
The awards are given out annually by the Football Writers Association of America and will be awarded in December.
