The Big Ten Conference announced the complete 2012-13 league schedule on Thursday. The Wisconsin Badgers will open and close the conference slate against Penn State, beginning Jan. 3 at the Kohl Center.
Wisconsin will have home-and-home series with seven of the 11 other Big Ten teams, facing Michigan and Purdue only at the Kohl Center and Indiana and Northwestern on the road.
The season culminates March 14-17 with the 2013 Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament at the United Center in Chicago.
Since Bo Ryan took over as head coach at Wisconsin, the Badgers own the best conference record in the Big Ten, going 132-54 (.710) over the last 11 seasons. Ryan’s .710 win percentage in Big Ten play is the highest mark in conference history among coaches with at least 10 years of experience.
Wisconsin has finished among the top four in the Big Ten for each of Bo Ryan’s 11 seasons in Madison. That streak of 11-straight top-four finishes is the Big Ten’s longest in 80 years and the second-longest of all-time. The Badgers have won 10 or more conference games in 10 of the last 11 seasons.
