Ready or not, the Big Ten football season kicks off on Saturday for the Wisconsin Badgers. They'll face 6th ranked Michigan in the conference opener. The Badgers are off to a 3-0 start after Saturday's 14-0 win over San Diego State. The Badger defense, minus two key members of the line, pitched the shutout against the Aztecs. But the offense appears to be a project and points might be considered a premium this season. Quarterback John Stocco is the only skill player back on offense from last year's squad and that's showed in the amount of offensive production. The Badgers are still trying to identify go to receivers and while they run the ball well with freshmen back P.J. Hill, without a passing game, rushing yards will be harder to come by. The Badgers will also be opening Big Ten play against a Michigan team coming off a dominating 47-21 win over Notre Dame. If the Badgers are going to compete against the Wolverines this week, the offense will have to get much better. The Badgers converted just 1 of 8 third down chances against the Aztecs on Saturday and that's not a good sign.
