The 3rd ranked Wisconsin women’s hockey team made history Thursday night at the LaBahn Arena with an 8-2 win over Minnesota State.
The Badgers set a new program record by recording 32 shots in the first period, surpassing the previous mark of 30 against Lindenwood in 2011.
Annie Pankowski collected goals in the second and third periods, earning the Badgers’ first hat trick since Dec. 6, 2013 when Madison Packer scored three goals against Bemidji State.
The Badgers’ (10-2-1, 7-2-1-0) 68 shots in the game tied for second most in program history.
Six different Wisconsin players recorded goals and 13 different players had at least one point.
The two teams close their two-game series this afternoon (3pm) at LaBahn Arena.
