Bo Ryan made $1.7-million to coach the Wisconsin Badger men’s basketball
team last season. This season, Ryan’s compensation package shows him earning more than $2.1-million, making him the 4th highest paid head coach in the Big Ten.
Michigan State’s Tom Izzo ($3.49-million), Ohio State’s Thad Matta ($2.5-million) and Purdue’s Matt Painter ($2.3-million) all earn more than Ryan.
According to Ryan’s most recent agreement with the UW, he’ll receive a base salary of $436,364 and $1.675 million from the UW Foundation for a total compensation package of $2,111,364.
Ryan has a 242-91 record in 10 seasons at Wisconsin. He needs 24 more wins to move to the top of the victory list at the UW.
