run to lead by 25 at halftime and beat 23rd ranked Illinois 95-70 at the Kohl Center.

The win is the 16th straight (16-0) to set a school record for consecutive wins to start the season and leaves the Badgers one of just five unbeaten teams in D-1 men’s college basketball.  The Badgers also extended their win streak over Illinois to 6-games.

Ben Brust scored 18 and Sam Dekker 17 to lead five Badgers in double figures.  Frank Kaminsky and Traevon Jackson added 15 points and freshman Nigel Hayes added 11.

Wisconsin hit 42% of its three-point shots (8 of 19), 63.2% of its two-point shots (24 of 38) and 56.1% overall (32 of 57).

About the only thing the Badgers did poorly once again is rebound.  Despite a 25-point win, the Badgers were out-rebounded 48-35.

Rayvonte Rice led the Illini with 19 points.

The Badgers are 3-0 in Big Ten play, tied with Michigan State for the conference lead.  They’re off until next Tuesday night when they face the Indiana Hoosiers in Bloomington.
