The UW-Milwaukee Panthers used a 16-1 second half run to pull to within 45-43 before falling to the Wisconsin Badgers 60-54 at the US Cellular Arena.

In the end, it was the Badgers that made the couple of big plays down the stretch, including a long 3-pointer by point guard Jordan Taylor with 41-seconds left to put the Badgers up by 6.

The Badgers won for the 19th straight time and 28th time in 29 overall meetings, but it wasn’t easy.

Center Jared Berggren lead the Badgers with 17 points, forward Ryan Evans added a career high 16 and Jordan Taylor chipped in with 14.

Forward Tony Meier led the Panthers with 15 points while forward James Haarsma added 11.

The Badgers host Savannah State Thursday night.
