Tennessee received a bid to play the University of Wisconsin in the New Years Day Outback Bowl in Tampa, Florida. The bid comes a day after the Volunteers lost the Southeastern Conference championship game to LSU.
Tennessee and Wisconsin have faced each other only once before. The Volunteers won the 1981 Garden State Bowl 28-21.
The Badgers traveled to the Capitol One Bowl last season, winning 17-14 over Arkansas.
