After hearing from the GOP, the Democrats take the stage.

Tammy Baldwin’s manager for her U.S. Senate campaign is touting the Madison Congresswoman’s upcoming speech at the Democratic National Convention. Baldwin is scheduled to address the crowd on Thursday night, which is the same night as the president.

In an email to supporters Karin Johanson says, “This is an amazing opportunity for (Baldwin), and for (the) campaign!” It’s the same night President Barack Obama officially accepts the party’s nomination. Johanson says “this election is a choice,” and “there is so much at stake for middle class families.”

The campaign, along with the President’s re-election team in Wisconsin, has already set up 200 Convention Watch Parties around the state. Baldwin, already in Charlotte, North Carolina, spoke on Tuesday to an LGBT caucus. If she wins Herb Kohl’s Senate seat in November, Baldwin would become the first openly gay US Senator. Former Republican Governor Tommy Thompson is also vying for that seat.
