Video of a northwest Wisconsin black bear who got its head stuck in a large old milk can has attracted hundreds of thousands of viewers on YouTube.

The incident itself happened a few weeks ago near Rice Lake. Eau Claire T-V stations showed Garrett Smith’s video during the Fourth of July weekend, and the story is now attracting national attention.

Smith told WQOW-TV he was working in a wooded area when he saw the bear’s head stuck in the milk can. A farmer gave Smith permission to drive across the field, and use hooks from a machine which let the bear pull his head out. The animal then ran off quickly.
