Viewers nationwide will be tuning into Janesville’s Paul Ryan debate Vice President Joe Biden. Ryan is coming off a top-of-the-ticket debate performance last week which saw Mitt Romney emerging as the victor against President Obama. This has led to a nationwide boost in the polls for the Republican challenger, says political scientist Charles Franklin.
Franklin says for Ryan, tonight’s debate is an opportunity to “continue the momentum” for the Romney/Ryan ticket while Biden has a chance to “bring the attention back” to the Obama campaign.
Franklin says although Ryan is a Southern Wisconsin Congressman, a number of Badger State residents still know little about him and this will be their chances to assess him as a Vice Presidential contender.
Biden will be stopping by La Crosse for a rally a day after the debate. It will be his third visit to Wisconsin since Labor Day.
