The manager of a custard stand near Milwaukee is getting major attention after a verbal exchange with Vice President Joe Biden. While at Kopp’s Frozen Custard in Glendale Friday with Senator Russ Feingold, Biden said he’s like to pay for his order. Scott Borkin said it was on the house. “Lower our taxes and we’ll call it even.”

Biden walked away but after another conversation with the manager a WISN-TV camera caught Biden saying, “Why don’t you say something nice instead of being a smart-ass all the time?” Biden later whispered that he was kidding.

Borkin said it didn’t seem right for someone in the vice president’s position but said Biden has a good personality. “When he came in, he came in good humor. I was talking to him before we brought in the building. I felt a good connection with him,” the 45-year-old restaurant manager told FNC’s Fox and Friends.

Biden was in town fundraising for Feingold, who is being challenged by GOP political newcomers Ron Johnson and Dave Westlake.
