The body of northern Wisconsin man has been recovered in what appears to be the second boater to have drowned in the past week. In the most recent case, the boater in Oneida County was by himself. April Dombrowski, Recreational Safety Warden for the DNR, says if you plan on boating alone give someone information of where you are going and when you plan to return.

As far as what type of craft, Dombrowski doesn't consider paddle boats any more or less risky than motorized boats.

"There are all watercrafts you have to respect and know how to operate those vessels."

The safety warden suggests taking a boat safety course to prevent mishaps. She says adults and youth alike would benefit from the instruction.

She adds that water conditions can change rapidly while boating and it's important to make proper decisions on whether to remain in the water or return to shore.
