The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department is working to identify the body of a woman found in a corn field over the weekend.
The body was found after a motorist reported seeing something in the field Saturday, which is in the Town of Ixonia.
A description of the woman has not been released and police have not yet said how she died. An autopsy has been requested by the Jefferson County coroner.
The sheriff’s department is currently seeking information from other law enforcement agencies about current missing persons cases that could help identify the woman.
