Investigators are trying to determine if bones discovered in a Rock County burn pit may be those of a missing Fitchburg woman. Aprina Paul was last seen October 27th, and the remains were found over the weekend.
The bone fragments were found after Fitchburg police received information about a Rock County home and a 29-year-old man. The man has been interviewed, and is being held on a probation violation, but hasn’t been charged with a crime related to Paul’s disappearance.
Rock County Sheriff Robert Spoden said investigators found evidence that the 18-year-Paul had been at the home, which sits on a rural section of Highway 14 near Evansville. Spoden said investigators believe there was a death at the location, and that Paul was there, but stopped short of definitively saying Paul was the person who died there.
Paul, a 2103 graduate of Madison West High School, was last seen leaving a Fitchburg home with an unknown male in a car, according to a press release from Fitchburg police.
