Steven Avery
A Manitowoc county prosecutor is releasing a book about the release and relapse of convicted murderer Steven Avery.
Avery was wrongfully convicted of rape in 1985, was subsequently released 18 years later, and then went on to brutally torture and murder Teresa Halbach in 2005.
Assistant District Attorney Michael Griesbach says he wants local prosecutors to learn from the case and be more aware of their responsibility toward the community. “The Innocent KIller” is due to be released August 7th and is being published by the American Bar Association. This is the second book Griesbach has written on the case.
Halbach’s brother Mike told the Associated Press that he’s unhappy that people are turning the violence involved in his sister’s death into entertainment.
