There’s no official word from the Green Bay Packers, but tight end Brandon Bostick says he’s been released.  Bostick made the announcement on twitter today.

Bostick’s message today said this, “Thankful to spend the first 3 years of my career in GB.  Unfortunately my time there has ended.  I appreciate the support from everyone in GB!”

Bostick’s biggest blunder came in the NFC Championship game when he was supposed to block for wide receiver Jordy Nelson on an onside kick but instead reacted to the ball in flight.  The kick bounced off Bostick’s helmet and wide receiver Chris Matthews recovered for Seattle.  The Seahawks went on to beat the Packers in overtime, 28-22.

Bostick showed flash as both a receiving and blocking tight end but blown assignments forced the Packers to lose trust in his ability.  He finished his career with the Packers with nine catches for 123 yards and two touchdowns.

Bostick didn’t go into hiding after his miscue in the NFC Championship.  He faced the media both after the game and the next day in Green Bay when players were cleaning out their lockers.

In a second tweet, Bostick said, “I’m excited to see where I go next.  The Journey doesn’t stop! #OnAMission #KeepTheFaith.
