Brandon Bostic was figuring into the mix at tight end for the Green Bay Packers. He’s potentially the teams best receiving tight end, but Bostick will miss some time with an injury.
Bostick was seen in the Packers locker room on Monday, using a pair of crutches. Coach Mike McCarthy told the media moments before that Bostick would miss a couple of weeks with a lower leg injury.
McCarthy wouldn’t say if the injury was related at all to the broken foot that put Bostick on injured reserve last season. But he said the Packers were encouraged once all the testing was done.
Bostick caught one pass against the Rams, for 9-yards before going down with the injury. The Packers will be hoping Bostick won’t miss any time during the regular season.
Bostick’s injury does open the door for Andrew Quarless, who started 10 games for the Packers last season. Second year pro Jake Stoneburner also figures to be in the mix as well.
Rookie Richard Rodgers has started the first two preseason games. He didn’t have any balls thrown his way in the win over the Rams on Saturday.
