Yovani Gallardo The concern about the 2009 Brewers is they don't have enough pitching.  It's only one game, but that concern certainly didn't go away after the San Francisco Giants pounded out 12 hits and beat the Milwaukee Brewers 10-6 on opening day in San Francisco.

Jeff Suppan got the start for the Brewers and promptly coughed up six runs in four innings of work.  Travis Ishikawa clubbed a three-run triple in the first inning and Aaron Rowand clubbed a two-run homer in the fourth.  Those were the two big blows against Suppan.

Tim Lincecum didn't have his stuff either.  The reigning Cy Young Award winner gave up three runs on four hits in three innings.  But the Giants bullpen came the rescue and held the Brewers in check the rest of the way.

Giants officials were considering holding the start time up because of anticipated rain.  But the game got underway on time and it didn't rain at all during the contest.  The loss ended a 5-game opening day win streak for the Brewers.  They're now 23-17-1 all time on opening day and 7-4-1 since joining the National League.
