The Milwaukee Brewers offense continued to struggle on Tuesday night in a 6-1 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium.
The Brewers managed just three hits off of Cardinal pitching. They lost their hottest hitter before the game, Gabe Kapler (.423) when he banged his shoulder on the outfield wall during batting practice. Ned Yost also gave struggling outfielder Ryan Braun another day off, hoping he'll come back tonight and pick things up.
The hottest player in the Brewers lineup at present time is right fielder Corey Hart (pictured) who is hitting .319. Hart had 2 of the Brewers three hits last night and also reached base when he was hit by a pitch.
Prince Fielder, who walked all four times last night is at just .222. Bill Hall is at .204 and J.J. Hardy has fallen to .190. And Rickie Weeks in the leadoff spot finished up last night's game at .196.
The Brewers certainly have time on their side. They've played only 13 games and they're 8-5. Ned Yost will send Carlos Villanueva (1-1) to the mound tonight against the Cardinals Adam Wainwright (1-1).
