J-J Hardy collected three hits and drove in four runs to help lead the Milwaukee Brewers to a 7-5 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates at Miller Park.
Hardy gave the Brewers an early lead with a home run in the first and the Brewers built a 7-1 lead on the Pirates through 4.
Kevin Mench also collected three hits, raising his batting average to over .400 for the season.
The Brewers struggled again defensively, but they did a good enough job offensively to make up for their shortcomings.
Jeff Suppan picked up the win, going six innings. Francisco Cordero struck out the side in the 9th to notch his 5th save.
The Brewers open a 3-game series against the Houston Astros tonight at Miller Park.
