The Milwaukee Brewers haven’t fared well on the road this season (8-17), but they continued to show the baseball world that they’ve got the home field thing all figured out.
Yovani Gallardo tossed 8-innings of shutout baseball, leading the Brewers to a 6-0 win over the San Francisco Giants on Sunday. It gave the Brewers 2 of 3 in the series and capped off an 8-1 home stand. The Brewers improved to 21-7 at Miller Park this season, the best home field record in baseball.
Ryan Braun and Casey McGehee tallied run scoring singles in the first inning, giving the Brewers all of the offense they would need. Prince Fielder and Rickie Weeks added run scoring hits later.
Gallardo (7-2) retired 14-hitters in-a-row at one point. In his last 5-starts, Gallardo is 5-0 with a 1.29 ERA.

The Brewers now open a 7-game road trip with a 3-game series at Cincinnati this afternoon. The Brewers were swept by the Reds at Great American Ballpark earlier this season. The Brewers have lost 10 of their last 11 games at Great American Ball Park to the Reds.
