Having the chance to win a series, the Milwaukee Brewers went in the opposite direction this afternoon, falling to the Los Angeles Dodgers 9-2 at Miller Park.

Starting pitcher Wily Peralta (3-5) never even made it out of the second inning and threw 55-pitches.  He allowed 5-runs in the second inning, but a lethargic and disheartening effort by the defense certainly didn’t help.

The Brewers bullpen performed well again, but having to work 7+ innings will wear them out in a hurry.

Dodgers starter Hyun-Jin Ryu gave up only a sixth inning home run to Ryan Braun.  He pitched into the 8th and improved to 5-2 with the win.

The Brewers fell to 18-27 on the season and fell to 4-16 in the Month of May.  They’ll take Thursday off and open a weekend series against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday night at Miller Park.

Kyle Lohse

The Brewers announced today that starting pitcher Kyle Lohse will skip his next start on Saturday because of right elbow irritation.  Mike Fiers is expected to make the start in his place on Saturday against the Pirates.
