The Milwaukee Brewers 2013 baseball season came to a close Sunday afternoon with a 3-2 loss to the New York Mets at Citi Field.

It was another solid outing for Marco Estrada, who allowed just two hits and one run over seven innings.  Estrada struck out eight and walked nobody, making another push for inclusion in the 2014 Brewers starting pitching rotation.

The Brewers gave up a couple of un-earned runs in the 8th inning as the Mets salvaged the final game of the four game series in New York.

In nine starts since returning from the disabled list, Estrada went 3-0 with a 2.15 era.  He finished the season with a  7-4 record and a 3.87 era.

The Brewers already have Yovani Gallardo, Kyle Lohse and Wily Peralta penciled into their starting rotation next season.  Estrada appears to be a candidate for a 4th spot.

The Brewers finished 15-12 in the month of September and 74-88 for the season.
