The Milwaukee Brewers are hoping a little home cooking will do them some good.  The Brewers fell to the St. Louis Cardinals 3-1 yesterday, scoring just 17-runs and returning home with a 2-8 record in the trip.

Cardinal pitcher Kyle McClellan worked into the ninth inning to become the NL’s third 5-game winner.

When Ryan Braun and Prince Fielder go, the Brewers usually do as well.  But on this road trip, Braun hit just .189 (7 for 37) with a homer and 2 rbi’s, while Fielder hit .171 (6 for 35) with three homers and four rbi’s.

Brewers manager Ron Roenicke saw his team fall to 14-20, 6-games under .500 and he’s glad they’re returning to Milwaukee.

The Brewers return home to open a 6-game home stand against the San Diego Padres tonight.  Zach Greinke makes his home debut tonight for the Brewers.  He was rusty in his initial outing at Atlanta, lasting just four innings, allowing five runs on five hits with a walk and six strikeouts.
