The Milwaukee Brewers are staying out of the free agent game so far, but that doesn't mean they're not looking to improve their roster for the 2007-season.

Milwaukee acquired switch-hitting catcher Johnny Estrada from Arizona on Saturday in a six-player deal that sent pitchers Doug Davis, Dana Eveland and outfielder Dave Krynzel to the Diamondbacks.  The Brewers also get pitchers Claudio Vargas and Greg Aquino in the deal.

Estrada is the key to the deal.  He hit .301 with 11 home runs and 71 rbi's last season with Arizona.  He had the sixth-best batting average among National League catchers.

Vargas is expected to find a spot in the Brewers rotation.  He went 12-10 with a 4.92 ERA as a starter last season and 21-16 with a 4.82 ERA in 52 appearances (49 starts) overall with the Diamondbacks.

Aquino played parts of three seasons with the Diamondbacks, going 2-3 with a 4.93 ERA in 11 relief appearances.  As a rookie in 2004, Aquino had 16 saves.
