The Milwaukee Brewers are off to a two-and-oh start after the opening day of the Cactus league exhibition season at Arizona.
The Brewers won both of its split-squad games on Thursday, 2-1 over the Chicago Cubs and 8-7 over the San Francisco Giants.
Jonathan Lucroy and Colin Walsh each drove in one run for Milwaukee and starter Chase Anderson struck out a pair in two innings while giving up just one hit.
New Brewers first-baseman Chris Carter clubbed a two-run homer off of Jake Peavy in the win over the Giants. Shane Peterson and Michael Reed also drive in two runs each for the Brewers.
Milwaukee returns to action this afternoon with a single game against the Seattle Mariners.
