Without Ryan Braun and Jean Segura in the lineup, the Milwaukee Brewers struggled offensively and fell to the Chicago Cubs 4-0. Chicago starter Jason Hammel tossed seven innings of 3-hit, shutout ball to earn his fourth win (4-1, 2.08) of the season. He held the Cubs hitless going into the sixth.
Starlin Castro clubbed a pair of home runs for the Cubs, who salvaged the final game of the series against the Brewers.
Wily Peralta turned in another quality start, allowing three runs on eight hits in seven innings.

The Brewers were shutout for the third time this season, with all three coming at Miller Park.
The Brewers (18-7) now hit the road for the next seven games, starting tonight in St. Louis against the Cardinals. Yovani Gallardo (2-0, 1.42) faces St. Louis right hander Michael Wacha (2-2, 2.10).
Braun, Segura avoid DL
Both Ryan Braun and Jean Segura have both avoided the disabled list.
Segura was inadvertently struck in the face by a bat being swung by Ryan Braun early in Saturday’s game against the Cubs at Miller Park. Braun was loosening up for an at-bat by swinging a bat over his head while standing near the top step of the dugout. When he swung the bat behind him, it struck Segura. Segura needed stitches to close the wound and is expected to miss a couple of games.
Braun ended up leaving the game later with a right intercostal strain and could miss 3 to 5 games. Braun injured himself while making a throw from deep right field in the eighth inning.
