After blowing a late lead the night before, the Milwaukee Brewers bounced back on Saturday night to knock off the New York Mets 5-2 at Miller Park.

Francisco Rodriguez was back on the hill to close out the 9th inning for the Brewers and this time he did, retiring the Mets for his 30th save of the season.  Rodriguez was the last of our relievers that held the Mets to a pair of hits and no runs over the final 3 1/3 innings.

The Mets jumped out to a 2-0 lead.  The second of the two runs came on Curtis Granderson’s solo home run to right, his 15th of the season.

The Brewers finally got their offense going in the bottom of the 5th.  Jean Segura scored on a wild pitch and Jonathan Lucroy’s double scored Carlos Gomez to tie the game.  Ryan Braun gave the Brewers the lead when he singled to right to drive in Lucroy.

The Brewers added to the lead when Mark Reynolds clubbed his 17th home run of the season to make it 4-2 in the 6th and Khris Davis drove in a run with an RBI double in the 8th.

Wily Peralta (12-6) earned the win for the Brewers, who close out the 4-game series against the Mets at Miller Park today.
