The Milwaukee Brewers today re-signed infielder Craig Counsell to a one-year contract.

The 39-year old Counsell hit .285 last season with 4 HR and 39 RBI in 130 games.  He made 90 starts at three different positions, appearing as a starter at second base (44 games), third base (27 games) and shortstop (19 games).  His .285 batting average marked his highest since hitting .282 with Arizona in 2002.

The Brewers also officially signed free agent lefty Randy Wolf to a three-year deal worth nearly $30-million.  The Brewers have a club option on a fourth year.  Wolf went 11-7 with a 3.23 ERA in a career-high 34 starts with the Dodgers last season.  Wolf and the Brewers are holding a press conference at Miller Park this afternoon.
