The Milwaukee Brewers signed second baseman Rickie Weeks to a four-year

contract through the 2014 season with an option for 2015. The deal is reportedly worth $38.5-million that could climb as high as $50-million with the option year.
The 28-year old Weeks is coming off his best Major League season. He hit .269 with 29 HR, 83 RBI and 11 stolen bases in 160 games in 2010.
Weeks broke the franchise record with his 754 plate appearances last season, a mark which was previously held by Hall of Famer Paul Molitor (752 in 1991). He clubbed a franchise-record eight leadoff homers and produced the most home runs, RBI and runs ever by a Brewers second baseman in a single season.
Weeks health has been an issue, missing an average of 67 games from 2006 to 2009, but he played in 160 games last season. He owns a career batting average of .253 with 89 HR, 265 RBI and 91 stolen bases in 642 games.
