The Milwaukee Brewers (42-51) had an opportunity to take a 4-game series from best home team in Baseball, but the Atlanta Braves (54-38) stopped the Crew Sunday 11-6. The Braves still are baseball’s best home team at 32-12 on the season. The teams split the series 2-2.
It was not a good day for Manny Parra. The Brewers starter served-up a career high 10-earned runs on 10-hits in 5 1/3 innings of work. He is now 3-7 on the year. Parra talks about his performance:

The Brewers offense was on par with three more home runs. Prince Fielder clubbed his 22nd of the season tying him for the NL lead. Rickie Weeks led-off the game for the 6th time this season with a long ball. He leads the majors in that category. Weeks later added another putting his total at 17 on the season. That sets a Brewers franchise record for 2nd baseman.

Recently called up outfielder Lorenzo Cain picked up his first big league hit with a 7th inning pinch hit single. He added a double in the 9th.
Milwaukee heads to Pittsburgh to take on the NL Central cellar dwelling Pirates (32-59). Chris Capuano gets the spot start against Jeff Karstens.
A couple of side notes:
– Brewer Manager Ken Macha has filed a complaint with Major League Officials about his players being hit-by-pitches too often. The complaint stems from an incident Saturday where Prince Fielder was hit by Jonny Venters after homering earlier in the night. The Brewers lead the majors with 47 hit-by-pitches.
– Yovani Gallardo is heading back to the rotation. Gallardois slated to face the Pirates on Thursday night. He has been on the DL for a couple of weeks with a mild oblique strain.
