The Milwaukee Brewers opened their four game series with the Arizona Diamondbacks on the losing end of a 5-3 decision Thursday night.

Before the game, OF Ryan Braun left the team on bereavement leave to deal with a family medical issue. Braun will be out of action 3 to 7 days due to baseball’s bereavement rule.
