The salary arbitration case between the Milwaukee Brewers and RHP Jose Veras was won by the Brewers today.  That means Veras will earn $2-million for the upcoming season, instead of the nearly $2.4-million that he was seeking.

Veras was acquired in December in a trade with the Pirates for third baseman Casey McGehee.

The Milwaukee Brewers are now 1-1 in arbitration since Doug Melvin took over as GM.  Corey Hart won his hearing two years ago.

The Brewers also signed infielder Jeff Bianchi and RHP Wily Peralta to 2012 contracts.  They now have 30-players on their 40-man roster under contract.
