The Brewers ended their 5-game losing streak on Wednesday night, beating the Chicago Cubs 6-2. The win could be a costly one though. Right handed starter Ben Sheets left the game after two innings with tightness in his right pitching arm, something we've come to learn, has been bothering him for some time now.
The Brewers used 7 pitchers out of their bullpen to pick up the win. Mark DiFelice was the first of the 7. He worked 2 innings to pick up his first Major League win. Sheets arm has bothered him so much of late that he received an injection a couple of weeks ago. Sheets revealed that he had an MRI done earlier as well, but it showed no structural damage.
Both Sheets and the Brewers are holding out hope that he'll be able to take the mound again this season. With 10-games left, the Brewers stayed 1/2 game behind the WildCard leading New York Mets.
Wednesday's win was the first for interim manager Dale Sveum. The Brewers and Cubs will play the final game of the series this afternoon.
